Day 10: Too Hot to Work..... Really

Today we went back to work at Lulu lake with Sarah. She had told us that the sweet clovers have multiplied in numbers. Our job was to bag the invasive plants before they seed. There were so many. We collected five full bags of sweet clover, and thistle seeds - our natural enemy.

Having Breakfast...

A great photo of a dragonfly taken by Rebecca.

We went back to the Nature Conservancy office to have lunch and talk with Jerry. We have an upcoming presentation at the East Troy Farmer's Market at the Michael Fields Agricultural Institute this Friday. Jerry gave us a lot of helpful information for our board. We spent the rest of the afternoon organizing, and researching information for the board. We had our first group disagreement (or as Joan and Rebecca called it a heated debate) over the board layout. But we talked it out and came to a unanimous decision. We will post a picture of the board tomorrow when its done...

Later, Marissa brought us back home (she had a lovely day off at the beach today...) to prepare for our meeting with Ana, a local intern from the Michael Fields Agricultural Institute. We told her our ideas and she gave us some great feedback. We are excited to talk to the locals of East Troy and tell them all about the Nature Conservancy and the LEAF program.

After the meeting, we went to do our laundry and prepare for dinner. It was our first day cooking without Marissa's guidance.
