Day 6: Our First Day Off!

Today was our first day off! We woke up an hour before we actually had to but used the extra time to pull out some knapweed that was growing in the front of our house.

After that, we went hiking at the Emma Carlin Trails. We took the shortest hike, but that was only because we were set to go horseback riding!! The bugs were ridiculously annoying. We may look happy in the photos but there are thousands of mosquitoes buzzing around us.

Then we came home for lunch and got ready to go horseback riding with Dream a Horse ranch. While we were waiting for the horses, we got to play duck duck goose with Lily, the owner's 5 year old daughter. Lily's favorite horse was named Scarlet and Lucinda got to ride on her. Emily rode on Montana, Rebecca rode on Clyde, and Joan rode on Prince. Marissa did not choose her horse wisely and picked the tallest horse named Tuxedo, the naughty horse. He kept walking under low branches and poor Marissa kept hitting them. We could hear her shouts at the end of the line of horses.

After we hopped on our horses, we walked into a beautiful trail and a mini obstacle course. We learned how to steer, stop, and move the horse. Our guide Tania allowed us to experience a horse trot. We were bouncing a ton and this is why we hurt more than we after working yesterday.

We made great new friends, except Marissa...The horse was not her friend.

We said our goodbyes and went back home to do some chores. Afterwards, we began to prepare dinner. We made Sausage and peppers baked Ziti. It was delicious. This was the end of a great day. Now it's time to watch "Princess Bride" and prepare for another adventure.
