Day 20: Green Market in Madison

On our second day in Madison, we got to sleep in! Most of us slept til 8 while Marissa and Emily went for a swim in the pool. We grabbed a yummy breakfast in the lobby. While a few of us worked on the previous days' blogs in the business center, the rest of us packed up our bags. After we were done, we went to the big weekly Green Market in Madison.

Marissa was a big fan of the mini fruits and vegetables!

There were vendors lined up on all four sides of capital square, it reminded us of the market in Union Square. We walked around tasting cheeses, crackers, jams, and fruits. There were grilled cheeses too! We also got to try honey comb which was pretty good. We bought a few things to bring home and hopped into our car for a drive back to Milwaukee. Madison is a fun little city!

We even found a domestic thistle- globe thistle.

When we got back to Milwaukee, we went on a tour of Pabst Mansion. Captain Pabst came from Germany and had five children. His family started and ran the Pabst brewery and a number of hotels in the Milwaukee area. The mansion is three stories tall and really pretty. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take pictures inside because it's a museum.

After our tour, we went to the theater to watch Wolverine! It was a very interesting movie, but we all had different opinions. Though it is safe to say that we were all a bit disappointed.... Then we stopped at Gus's Drive In for the weekly antique car show.

We returned home to unpack and cook a simple dinner of pasta, leftover pulled pork, and steamed broccoli.
